How to Put Links on Your YouTube Videos

Not a lot of entertainment value here. This is the  youtube video downloda  meat and bones of social media. When you are building your list and generating traffic, links on videos are the lifeblood of your business. Wow, lots of cliches, but there are requirements for truth in advertising.

The uses for the results of this process can be as diverse or as simple as you want to make it. The links can create direct traffic to your website, your blog, your affiliate location, your squeeze or landing page, your auto responder or just about any other place you choose. Your discretion becomes the manager of the traffic that visits your site. This is the definition of making the link clickable. You place a buried link in the copy of an ad, picture or video that you select. Then the link sends the viewer to the place that you decide. The varied locations you send the traffic will help maximize your exposure and profitability.

This article specifically pertains to videos that are already hosted on YouTube, so the linking process requires the use of a program that will provide a widget (electronic tool) that will bridge the gap. The platform that creates the links is called LinkedTube.

LinkedTube has a blank form that you fill in with the necessary values to complete the task. Copy and paste in the first one in with the YouTube video URL ( Uniform Resource Locator) which is the complete web address you are linking to. The second blank is the button text. This is what you select for the button to have printed on it. For example, "Click Here For More FREE Information!"

The third blank is the button URL. This is the location where you want the click to be directed. For the sake of this example, let's say it's going to your website. Your website's URL goes in the blank box. You can also determine the button mode, which is the conditions that you want the button to appear. Among the choices are: show on hover or show always, and there is a third option, never show. That had to be a misprint. Or someone didn't have their thinking cap on... We want the button to show sometime; don't we?

Anyway, the final two blanks are for hover title and hover text. These two options are visible only when the cursor is suspended over the field of the video. It also obscures the visibility of the video thumbnail and for this purpose I choose to use it to reiterate contact information. This is a personal opinion, but for my hover title, I choose to insert my website's address. I do this because the first line of text in the hover field has less characters than the second line. Roughly speaking there are 20 characters or so on the top line, and 30 more or less on the bottom line. So, that the last line should be the catch phrase that you choose to nudge them into visiting your site. Such as, "For current marketing secrets!"

When all of this is done, save the information in the form and click the button to get the embed code. Save this embed code in a safe place because you can add it anywhere that you would use HTML code. Use it to insert the video and give a quick shot-in-the-arm on your blog or website. Post the title on your WordPress blog and click the "post" button, and it's done.
